What Are MRUs as Reported by My Anti Spyware Program?

This is a question regarding MRUs. I believe they stand for *most frequently used* at any rate my anti-spyware programs keep showing them and they say “these objects do not pose a threat”.

Is that true? And if so, why do they bother showing them to me?

Thanx,

Chet Norris

Dear Chet,

My dear friend and computer expert, Leo Notenboom, of Ask-Leo.com says:

“Actually, MRU stands for “Most Recently Used”. They’re not a threat,
in the sense that they’ll do no damage, but your anti-spyware
program is being sensitive to possible privacy issues as well.

For example someone can tell from your MRU lists what documents
you’ve recently opened, or sites you’ve visited. It’s up to you
whether that’s important to you. In most cases it’s not an issue.

Thanks for asking!

Leo
